Hodson's Horse - Clay Shooting
Clay Target Shooting Championships 2018.
The Royal Armoured Corps (RAC), which is made up of the units that provide the armoured capability of the British Army hosted their first championships at Purbeck S.G. With the growth of Clay pigeon shooting within the Army this was a chance for the RAC to identify talent within it’s ranks, with the ultimate aim of building a team for the future. The team event would award points towards the RAC’s annual sporting event Hodson’s Horse.
The event took the form of an individual 50 bird sporting shoot with the top 4 scores from each nominated regimental team combining for the overall team competition. Competitors braved the wet and wind for some challenging targets in the Purbecks with some impressive shooting across the board.
Team Results (top 4):
1st Royal Tank Regiment
2nd Household Cavalry Regiment
3rd Armour Centre
4th Royal Lancers
Individual (Top 3):
1st Capt Rob Vincent RTR
2nd LCpl Jack Davies RTR
3rd(tied) Sgt James Teece RTR, SSgt Tim Daisley KRH
