Cavalry Lunch Club Summer Cocktail Party on 5th June 2025 Report
~ Chapel Square of the Guards’ Chapel, The Royal Military Chapel ~
The committee’s decision to forego a lunch in favour of a summer cocktail party this year proved not only to be a resounding success, but by popular decree, will now become the summer event.
The event only became possible through the immense generosity and kindness of the London District and Household Division’s Senior Chaplain, the Reverend Lt Col Alex Bennett CF, and aided by his most helpful Chapel Manager and the Verger. A contribution of £350 has been given to the Guards Chapel Trust.
The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment presented a fine team of six helpers for the evening under the keen eye of CoH Foran. Gratitude is also extended to Kirsty West of the Guards Museum for arranging the use of the museum’s conveniences.
The turnout of over one hundred and twenty Cavalry Lunch Club members and their guests included friends, families and ladies, many without any military connection bar their member of the alumni. This is an important indicator that the draw and reputation of the club is expanding, a factor that the committee will continue to build on, through the increasing connectability, networkability and productivity this brings to the RAC Alumni.
With the enthusiasm of those that joined us, plus the many many others who wanted to but were indisposed, this hopefully will reflect on buoyant attendances for our autumn (16 October) and winter (26 February) luncheons; the guest speaker and venue for both are yet to be confirmed, so keep an eye out on the CLC sections of both the RAC Alumni website, LinkedIn and FB pages.
It must be emphasised that great effort goes into securing notable speakers, all of whom although not necessarily household names or of national prominence, will be outstanding in their field of endeavour and achievement. So, rest assured that whatever the topic, every talk will be worthy of the full support of a good turnout, not just of members, but ladies, friends, colleagues and associates, amid the convivial enjoyment of a good lunch.
SAVE the DATE for the autumn lunch ~ noon, on Thursday, 16 October 2025.
Remember, guests are always highly encouraged and ladies are always most welcome.
